How we work
For investment advice
Free Initial Consultation
The first step is for us to meet, so that we can understand what your needs and objectives are and to find out more about you. It’s important for us to understand how your financial arrangements need to fit into your plans for life now and in the future, and if there’s anyone else you need to plan for. We can then outline how we might approach your query. Just as importantly, this also gives you a chance to meet us and decide whether we are the right fit. Should you decide to proceed, we will ask you to formalise your permission for us to commence chargeable work for you by signing our Client Agreement. If you decide not to work with us, there will be no charge for this initial meeting.
Research and Analysis
At this stage, we will complete a fact find and review your current position and how well your existing arrangements meet your current needs, based on our extensive knowledge of financial markets, diligently researching potential solutions for your needs. We may, with your permission, gather information from other professional advisers or financial services providers with whom you have an agreement or policy. We will also measure how much risk you are prepared to take with your investments, and your capacity for loss. We charge a fixed fee for this advice and the resulting report, so you know that our advice is not influenced by what fees we can earn.
Review and Strategy Report
Once we have a clear understanding of your current investments we will write a Review and Strategy Report. This will comprise a review of your current position and indicate where improvements and changes can be made in your best interests. It will compare your current holding with your agreed risk profile and capacity for loss.
Follow Up Meeting
Once you have had time to digest the findings of the report we will arrange a second meeting which may be face to face, by telephone or videocall so that we can decide what the next steps should be, if you wish to proceed.
Advice and Implementation
If you decide you wish to proceed we will agree a fee for us to provide a Recommendation Report giving specific advice and recommendations. Once you feel happy that you are fully informed and in a position to make a decision to proceed, you can choose whether to give us your consent to begin the process of implementing our recommendations.
Ongoing Service
Our ongoing service option incorporates a periodic suitability review of the investments we have recommended, to ensure the original recommendation remains suitable. This periodic assessment will be completed at least annually, however, the frequency may be increased depending on your circumstances, your risk profile and the types of financial products that have been recommended. The fee for this service can be paid directly or deducted from your investments, and covers most work directly related to the investments on which we advise you on.
